Australian Defense 5.56mm NATO 62 Gr. SS109 Steel-Core Penetrator FMJ in 900-Round Ammo Can .223 - M855 Equivalent

38¢ per round! Australian Defense's 5.56mm steel-core 62-gr. FMJ ammo. SS109 bullet with hardened steel penetrator and lead core, enclosed in gilding metal jacket. Features Ballistic Temperature Independence (BTI) technology, which uses a special propellant that fires ammunition at a consistent velocity regardless of temperature. Visible discolorations at the case neck and mouth indicate the metal was correctly treated, yielding hard, strong cases that stand up to the abuse of semi-automatic and automatic loading mechanisms. Powders burn cleanly and consistently. Ammo is packaged in 18 50-round plastic-film packs that can be separated into five-round film packs. Includes convenient ammo can. Per 900 rounds.

  • Strong cases stand up to the abuse of loading mechanisms
  • BTI ensures consistent velocity regardless of temperature range
  • Powders burn clean and consistent in all conditions

"The results speak for themselves. Either I happened upon a one-of-a-kind batch of Aussie F1 (M855 equivalent) or the ammo folks who brought us "g'day mate!" have figured out how to make great shooting military fodder. If the stuff I have is truly representative of ADI's F1 performance, the folks at Lake City Arsenal should be allowed to tap into the Presidential vacation budget for a watch-and-learn trip Down Under. The fact that this ammo managed to stay well below .75 MOA with a not-so-impressive velocity standard deviation of 24 fps is all the more surprising. Things that make me go hmmmm …" 62 Grains of Excellence
