Barrel: A proprietary blend of Hammer forged chrome molly vanadium made by FN that is referred to as "Machine Gun Steel" by virtue of its required use in FN's M249 and M240 weapons. The hammer forging process work hardens the steel, making it more durable. In addition, the chrome process for the bore allows for a lining almost twice as thick as a standard M16 for enhanced durability. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 1/7 twist, M4 barrel extension, and a mid-length gas system. The mid profile A2 style barrel is high pressure tested, magnetic particle inspected and then phosphate coated to mil-specs. Barrel is finished off with a Midwest Industries SS12G2 12" free-float rail, low-profile gas block and an A2 flash hider.

Upper: Forged 7075-T6 Flat top AR upper is hard coat anodized black for durability. Featuring M4 feedramp cuts & T-marks, these upper upper receivers are made for us right here in the USA. The rail is made in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Arsenal USA / Global Trades SSR-99 7.62x39 AK-47 LNIB Arsenal USA / Global Trades SSR-99 7.62x39 AK-47 LNIB

This is an Arsenal USA / Global Trades SSR-99 AK-47 chambered in 7.63x39 caliber and built by Gordon Tech using all new components, the majority of which were manufactured by the Arsenal of Bulgaria. I am not the original owner. I purchased it over 12 years ago as unfired from a well-respected seller on The Guns Network LLC, and it does indeed appear to be unfired to me. The smooth almost black parkerized finish is especially beautiful. Pictured is a Mojo Micro Click Rear Ghost Ring Sight but it has been replaced with the original bulgarian 800m rear sight leaf. If the buyer prefers the Mojo sight it can be put back on. The serial number is engraved on the receiver and hand engraved on the bolt. I don't see any other serial numbers, which is normal for this rifle. Includes the original box, manual, cleaning kit, oil bottle, 5 round magazine, and two new Bulgarian Circle 10 thirty round magazines.

This is a rare rifle. Only 252 SSR-99 rifles were produced by Arsenal USA during the ban era. Sixty percent of those were assembled by Gordon Tech, and who knows how many of those 150 or so Gordon Tech rifles remain unfired some 20 years later.

The SSR-99 rifles were assembled using all new components. None of these components were ever installed on any other existing firearm. They are unique in that with the exception of the 5 US parts required for compliance with 922r, the components, including the receiver, are 100% newly manufactured by the Arsenal of Bulgaria. (The Arsenal Inc. rifles use a receiver that is milled here in the US under Bulgarian license).

This rifle has the so-called "G spot," a proof mark signifying that it was built by Gordon Technologies in Crown Point, Indiana. About 150 or so of the 252 SSR-99 rifles were assembled and proof fired under contract by the Gordon Technologies firm. The remaining number of rifles were done by Arsenal USA's own in house staff. The Gordon Tech builds were considered to be the best in terms of quality and workmanship, as well as quality of the parts kits. They have a "G" proof mark on the barrel under the lower handguard, which means the rifle passed a rigorous Proof Load Test by G-Tech. This consisted of checking head-spacing, then firing an extra hot load through the rifle, then rechecking the head-spacing and inspecting the action for any damage.
