Transform the most basic police shotgun into a precision shooting tool. This exciting and innovative shotshell system delivers the tightest buckshot patterns available for law enforcement-all without expensive barrel alterations or aftermarket choke tubes. It also features a solid brass head for reliable function and minimal extraction issues.
"FCW is designed to hold the pellets close together for longer, resulting in very tight (and very desirable) patterns." "The flaps on the side of the FCW open in flight, resulting in the FCW
“backing off” of the buckshot, without causing them to spread more."

New Federal Cartridge shotgun loads for LE
Federal has developed and released a slightly subsonic tactical 12-gauge load featuring 15 pellets of hardened, copper-plated No. 1 buckshot (nominal diameter of .30", or 7.62mm) and the state of the art in pattern enhancement technology. This is a really significant development. Shotgun News
The heart of this new load is the pellet size incorporated therein. No. 1 buckshot is the optimum pellet size for combat use based on IWBA (International Wound Ballistics Association) data. Shotgun News
"Based on IWBA data, Don Hacklander from San Diego Police Supply and I have been discussing the potential of a properly designed #1 buckshot LE load for many years--with Don's help and the efforts of some folks at ATK, this has now finally been brought to fruition!" Dr. Gary Roberts in pistol-forum.com
"We shot the new Federal #1 buckshot, 15 pellet, 1100 fps "Flight Control" load (LE132-1B) yesterday out of a generic 18" 870P, including patterning from 5-35 yards, as well as a bare gel shot at 7 yards. In bare gel, all 15 of the 30 caliber plated pellets penetrated in the 14-18 inch range." Dr. Gary Roberts in pistol-forum.com
Another test shot fired by Dr. Roberts from the same shotgun at a recorded velocity of 1095 fps at 3 meters (9.84 feet) into a gelatin block with a car windshield in front of it resulted in two badly deformed pellets penetrating to 5 inches, three pellets to 8-9 inches, and the remaining 10 pellets making it to 12.5-15 inches. "This new Federal LE132-1B #1 buckshot load offers IDEAL terminal performance for LE and self-defense use and is the best option for those who need to use shot shells for such purposes." Dr. Gary Roberts in pistol-forum.com
"This new #1 buckshot load is the KING of self-defense shot loads..." Dr. Gary Roberts in pistol-forum.com
"The new #1 load (LE132-1B) uses the same design features (solid brass head, shot spread reducing wad, copper-plated shot, reduced recoil ) as the current Flight Control Tactical Buckshot, but using fifteen 30 caliber pellets, instead of the eight or nine 32 caliber pellets in the current 00 loads (LE133-00 and LE132-00)." Dr. Gary Roberts in pistol-forum.com
"I don’t usually recommend a particular brand of ammo, but if you have
made the choice to use a shotgun for home defense, then this load is the
“Best of the Best” available."
